Composition shingles are by far the most popular material used for roofing. Made from fiberglass or asphalt, these shingles are manufactured in a variety of colors, textures, and styles to best enhance the architecture of your home. Easy to install and highly fire resistant, these shingles can range from a low-cost option for starter homes to a designer style to enhance your home’s design. Lifetime for composition shingles usually range from twenty to forty years, but can easily be repaired without damaging the roof.

SLATE ROOFING
With slate–actual shingle-like layers of rock–your roof will resist the elements and require no maintenance for at least a century. This expensive and heavy material may need special engineering to support its weight, but its durability and longevity make it a material envied for upscale homes.

METAL ROOFING
Installing a metal roof contributes to the style and energy efficiency of your home. With a durable lifetime of around fifty years, this material reflects heat and can withstand any type of weather. The most widely used metal roofing, screwdown (exposed fasteners), may require maintenance every decade, but is affordable in price. Standing seam (concealed fasteners) roofing is more expensive, but can be manipulated to create distinctive lines that add to the unique appeal of metal roofing.

FLAT ROOFING
Flat roofing protects buildings from water damage, and can be installed in several different ways, using self-adhering materials or a heat application. With a lifetime of ten to twenty years, flat roofing can also serve as waterproofing for patios and decking.
